At GSU we want to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, acknowledging the rich history of the LGBTQ+ community and all the incredible ways queer folks continue to contribute to the university community and far beyond.

We also know that LGBTQ+ people still face discrimination and oppression based on their queerness. We want to ensure that all LGBTQ+ students at Greenwich know how and where they can access support, both within the university and outside the university.

You can find a comprehensive list of organisations based in London who support LGBTQ+ people with a range of difference experiences and issues here:

Within the university, you can report discrimination and abuse through two different processes; Report + Support, and the complaints process.

Report + Support is the University’s online platform where students, staff and visitors to the University can disclose how they have been affected by bullying and harassment, discrimination, hate incident/crime and sexual misconduct, including incidents where someone’s gender or sexual identity played a role in what they experienced. A specially trained advisor can provide information on reporting options and support available so that they can make an informed decision on what happens next. If you identify as LGBTQ+, the Report and Support team will be happy to speak to you and signpost you to specialist support tailored around your needs.

You can also submit a complaint to the university if you face discrimination, bullying and harassment by a member of staff at the university or anyone providing services on the university’s behalf. You can find out more about the complaints procedure here:

You can always contact the Student Union Advice service if you need support with any of these processes. Find our contact form here:
