Rahid has helped amplify student voices and highlight issues that affect accessibility, inclusion, and the day-to-day experience of disabled students.
Rahid serves as the Disabled Liberation Chair and has been a dedicated advocate for disabled students. In this role, he works to ensure that the experiences and needs of disabled students are represented clearly and authentically within the Students’ Union and the wider university. He has shown strong initiative in creating articles and contributing to podcasts that raise awareness of disabled student experiences. Through these platforms, Rahid has helped amplify student voices and highlight issues that affect accessibility, inclusion, and the day-to-day experience of disabled students. Rahid also consistently takes opportunities to represent his peers in discussions with senior leaders, ensuring that disabled students are included in conversations that shape policies and support. His willingness to step forward and engage at this level demonstrates a strong commitment to advocacy. In addition, Rahid demonstrated ambition and leadership by standing as a candidate for President, using his campaign to further highlight the priorities and perspectives of disabled students. Through his initiative, visibility, and commitment to representation, Rahid has made a meaningful contribution to strengthening the voice of disabled students within the university community.
