Donate, don't dump!
The Hub Haul launched on 11th May 2026, which is an Officer initiative in collaboration with Greenwich Students' Union, Kent Students' Union and Christ Church Students' Union. We are collecting items that you no longer need and keeping them asid for future Medway students who can put them to good use!
Please drop off any of your unwanted items to a member of the team at The Hub during opening hours. We are open all summer long, check out our up to date opening times here.
Please can all donations be in good, usable, and clean condition and from the list below:
Kitchen
- Pots, pans, frying pans
- Plates, bowls, mugs, glasses
- Cutlery & cooking utensils (spatulas, ladles, tin openers)
- Chopping boards
- Tupperware / food storage containers
Small Appliances (subject to PAT Testing confirmation from the University)
- Kettles
- Toasters
- Rice cookers
- Blenders
Home / Living
- Desk lamps
- Extension leads (UK compliant)
- Storage boxes & organisers
- Hangers
- Laundry baskets
- Drying racks
- Clocks
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Unopened cleaning products
- Dustpans & brushes

- Stationery (notebooks, folders, pens)

- Unopened food (long life pantry items)
- Unopened toiletries (toilet paper, face cloths, laundry detergent)
Kindly please do not donate anything that is broken, damaged, or beyond repair, or anything from the list below:
Hygiene-Sensitive Items
- Used bedding (duvets, pillows, sheets)
- Towels
- Clothing or shoes (this will be an avenue explored later on, but no clothing donations for now)
Opened or Expired Products
- Opened food
- Used or opened cleaning products
- Toiletries or cosmetics
Broken or Unsafe Items
- Anything damaged, missing parts, or not working
- Items with frayed wires or faulty plugs
Large or Hard-to-Store Items
- Large furniture (sofas, wardrobes, mattresses)
- Heavy items that are difficult to transport
Restricted or Risky Items
- Candles (depending on accommodation rules)
- Heaters or high-risk electricals
- Sharp or hazardous items (knives, knife blocks)
- Flammable items (BBQ firelighters, gas canisters etc)

The Hub Haul has the right to refuse or return donations that are unsafe, damaged, or not aligned with the initiatives purpose. The lists above are not exhaustive.
3 item limit per person across all donation areas.
Knife, fork, spook would count as 1 item, likewise, plate, bowl, mug would count as 1 item. Other items are singular.
